I have many happy childhood memories of taking part in horse riding with riding for the disabled, cycling on my adapted trike and swimming at my local sport centre. In all these activities I benefited from advice and support from many others who enabled me to take part in sports – despite the limitations imposed by my disability.
I currently work in the Healthcare sector – drawing upon my own experience as a wheelchair user to improve the way wheelchair services work for users and their families and carers. Working in this area also means I understand the importance of sport to both health and wellbeing. In my role as Trustee with HDSF I can help to ensure children and adults in Hertfordshire have the opportunity for positive sporting experiences as I did. In my spare time I like making glass art and love a good scary film.
