My role as the Treasurer for HDSF is to train staff on the accounts function and then oversee the financials, suggest ways to improve the internal control process and advise on the improvement of the financial reporting and analysis and treasury function. I bring knowledge and skills from my current role as Financial Controller for the Health & Care Professions Council; in charge of Financial Controls, leading a finance team, Year End Accounts Preparation and Reporting and overseeing audit queries. I also have experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Investment Appraisals, Budgeting and Forecasting, Month End Reporting, Treasury, Plant Accounting, Financial Accounting, Service Charge Accounting, Small Business Year End Accounts & Tax Returns.
I previously volunteered for London Central Mosque and still help out from time to time. Giving back to the community is important in my Muslim faith. I was inspired by the great work HDSF do, not only to help disabled people’s physical health but improve their mental health and bring about a sense of happiness to them. I am excited to contribute to such a great cause.
